Rejuran
Skin Booster
The original Korean bio-regenerative skin treatment — injectable Rejuran harnesses the power of polynucleotides (PN) derived from wild salmon DNA to stimulate deep collagen production, repair damaged skin, and restore natural firmness, hydration and radiance from within.
What is Rejuran?
Rejuran is a revolutionary bio-regenerative skin treatment that originated in South Korea, where it has been one of the most popular skin treatments for over a decade. Unlike conventional skin boosters that simply add hydration or volume to the skin, Rejuran works at a cellular level to activate the skin's own repair and regeneration processes.
Injectable Rejuran uses polynucleotides (PN) — derived from wild salmon DNA — administered via microinjection into the dermis. PN is focused on repair and building: it is formulated to improve skin texture, elasticity, hydration, and dermal thickness, making it especially effective for fine lines, crepiness, and restoring overall skin resilience.
A separate, topically-applied Rejuran formulation is used in combination with skin needling — this version contains PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), derived from salmon sperm DNA (sometimes referred to as the "salmon sperm facial"). PDRN is focused on repair and recovery: it supports tissue repair and regeneration, making it particularly suited to healing, achieving a glowing complexion, post-procedural recovery, and mild rejuvenation.
Both PN and PDRN are long-chain DNA fragments that are highly biocompatible with human skin — wild salmon DNA shares approximately 95% similarity with human DNA. Sarah will recommend the formulation — or combination of both — best suited to your skin concerns and goals.
The result is genuine skin regeneration — not just surface-level improvement. Over a course of treatments, the skin becomes measurably firmer, more hydrated, more even in tone, and more resilient. Rejuran works with your own biology to create improvements that grow progressively and can last for up to 12 months.
Wild salmon is the source for both formulations used in the Rejuran range — but the two are not the same. Injectable Rejuran uses PN extracted from salmon DNA. The topical formulation used with skin needling uses PDRN extracted from salmon sperm. Both are purified to pharmaceutical grade, safe, well-tolerated, and effective at supporting the skin's natural repair processes.
Rejuran treatment types
The Rejuran range offers several formulations, each designed for a specific area or concern. Sarah will recommend the most appropriate type — or combination — for your individual skin at consultation.
Injectable Rejuran (PN) — a polynucleotide derived from salmon DNA. Repair and building: improves texture, elasticity, hydration, and dermal thickness. Best for fine lines, crepiness, and overall skin resilience.
Topical Rejuran with skin needling (PDRN) — derived from salmon sperm. Repair and recovery: supports tissue healing and regeneration. Best for glowing skin, post-procedural recovery, and mild rejuvenation.
Rejuran Classic (Healer)
The original Rejuran formulation for full-face skin rejuvenation. Delivered via microinjections across the face, it targets ageing, fine lines, skin texture, and overall skin quality by activating the body's natural healing and collagen production processes.
Rejuran I (Eye)
A specially formulated version designed for the delicate periorbital area. Targets crow's feet, fine lines under and around the eyes, and improves the health and elasticity of this thin, sensitive skin. Delivered via micro-injections around the eye contour.
Rejuran S (Scar)
A higher-viscosity formulation designed specifically for the treatment of acne scars and depressed scarring. Works to repair damaged skin architecture, stimulate collagen within scar tissue, and gradually improve the appearance of atrophic and rolling acne scars.
Rejuran HB (Hydro Booster)
Combines Rejuran's bio-regenerative PN with hyaluronic acid for simultaneous deep hydration and cellular repair. Ideal for patients seeking both immediate plumping and long-term regenerative benefits in a single treatment.

What Rejuran does for your skin
Rejuran produces genuine, progressive improvements in skin quality — working at a biological level to restore the health, structure, and vitality of the skin over time.
Who is Rejuran suitable for?
Rejuran is suitable for all skin types and is particularly well-suited to patients who want genuine improvement in skin quality — not just hydration. Sarah will assess your skin at consultation to confirm suitability and recommend the most appropriate formulation.
Rejuran is administered via microinjections into the skin by a qualified and registered cosmetic nurse or medical practitioner. A thorough consultation with Sarah is required prior to treatment to confirm suitability, review your medical history, and discuss realistic expectations. Please disclose all medications, supplements, and skin conditions at your consultation.
Your Rejuran treatment with Sarah
Rejuran treatments are performed by Sarah in our Erina practice. Each appointment is thorough and unhurried — here is what to expect from start to finish.
Skin Consultation
Sarah reviews your skin concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. She confirms the most appropriate Rejuran formulation and treatment plan for your skin.
Topical Anaesthetic
A topical numbing cream is applied and left for 20–30 minutes to ensure the injection process is comfortable throughout.
Skin Preparation
The skin is cleansed and prepared for treatment. The Rejuran formulation is drawn up ready for administration.
Microinjection Treatment
Sarah administers Rejuran via a series of precise microinjections into the upper layers of the skin, ensuring even distribution across the treatment area. The process typically takes 15–20 minutes.
Post-Treatment Care
A soothing serum or mask is applied. Small injection points may be visible for a few hours. Most patients experience mild redness and light swelling that resolves within 24–48 hours.
Results & Follow-Up
Improvements build progressively over 4–8 weeks following each session. Sarah reviews your skin at each appointment and adjusts the treatment plan as needed.
A course of three sessions is recommended, spaced 2–4 weeks apart. This allows the skin time to heal and build on the cumulative benefits between sessions. Results can last up to 12 months after the initial course, with maintenance sessions every 6–12 months recommended to sustain outcomes. Sarah will tailor the protocol to your skin at consultation.

Common questions about Rejuran
Rejuran and dermal fillers are fundamentally different treatments. Fillers — typically made of hyaluronic acid — add volume to the skin or specific facial areas, providing immediate structure and fullness. Rejuran does not add volume. Instead, it delivers PN into the skin to activate the body's own collagen production, repair damaged skin cells, and improve skin quality from within. The result is healthier, firmer, more radiant skin — not added volume. Rejuran is sometimes described as a "skin healer" rather than a filler.
PN (polynucleotide) and PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) are related but distinct ingredients. Injectable Rejuran uses PN, derived from wild salmon DNA — its focus is repair and building, improving skin texture, elasticity, hydration, and dermal thickness, making it ideal for fine lines, crepiness, and overall skin resilience. The topically-applied Rejuran used alongside skin needling uses PDRN, derived from salmon sperm DNA — its focus is repair and recovery, supporting tissue healing, a glowing complexion, post-procedural recovery, and mild rejuvenation. Sarah will advise which formulation, or combination, suits your skin best.
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to significantly reduce discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a series of small, brief pinpricks — similar to a fine needle sensation at each injection point. Some areas of the face — such as the lips and forehead — may be more sensitive. Sarah performs all treatments with care and can adjust her approach to maximise your comfort throughout.
After a course of three sessions, the regenerative effects of Rejuran can last up to 12 months. The collagen stimulation and skin repair processes continue to build for several weeks after each treatment. Most patients choose to return for a maintenance session every 6–12 months to sustain and extend their results. Individual results vary based on skin type, age, lifestyle, and other factors — Sarah will provide realistic expectations at your consultation.
Rejuran is a well-tolerated injectable treatment. Following your appointment, you may notice small injection bumps and mild redness across the treated area — this typically resolves within 12–24 hours. Some patients experience minor swelling for up to 48 hours. Most patients feel comfortable returning to normal social activities the day after treatment. Strenuous exercise, saunas, and direct sun exposure should be avoided for 24–48 hours. Sarah will provide full aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Yes — Rejuran can be effectively combined with a range of other skin treatments to address multiple concerns. It works particularly well alongside HEALITE II LED therapy (to support post-injection recovery and enhance results), PRX Plus peel, and Medi Infusions.
