Coastal Plastic Surgery & Medi Spa — Erina NSW Meet Our Team
Our specialist plastic surgeons and clinical team bring extensive training, clinical experience, and genuine care to every patient. All surgeons hold the FRACS qualification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Specialist plastic surgeons on the Central Coast
Coastal Plastic Surgery was founded by Assoc. Prof. Gazi Hussain more than 20 years ago. Our team has developed a strong reputation for surgical skill and patient-centred care, offering reconstructive and cosmetic surgical services, non-surgical treatments, and dermal therapies from our Erina practice.
In Australia, any registered medical practitioner may perform cosmetic surgery without specialist surgical training. Our surgeons hold FRACS (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) — the specialist qualification recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). We encourage patients to verify the qualifications of any treating surgeon at ahpra.gov.au.
All surgical procedures carry risk. Individual results vary depending on a range of patient-specific factors. The information on this page is general in nature and does not constitute medical advice. A formal consultation with one of our practitioners is required before any treatment decision is made.

Common questions
General information about our team and services. For clinical questions specific to your situation, please book a consultation.
In Australia, any registered medical practitioner can legally use the title "Cosmetic Surgeon" regardless of their surgical training or qualifications. A specialist plastic surgeon holds FRACS (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery), the specialist qualification accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), requiring a minimum of 12 years of medical and surgical education including at least five years of specialist plastic surgery training. All surgeons at Coastal Plastic Surgery hold FRACS. You can verify any practitioner's registration and specialist status at ahpra.gov.au.
Choosing a surgeon is a personal decision that requires careful consideration. We recommend booking an initial consultation with one of our specialist plastic surgeons to discuss your concerns, understand your options, and assess whether you feel comfortable proceeding. You are welcome to consult with more than one surgeon. Our reception team can also help direct you based on your area of concern and the procedure you are considering.
Dr Maryam Seyedabadi is able to arrange an all-female surgical team for patients who require or prefer this. Please advise our reception team of this preference at the time of booking so arrangements can be confirmed in advance.
An initial surgical consultation is 45 to 60 minutes with one of our specialist plastic surgeons. During this appointment, your surgeon will review your medical history, discuss your concerns and goals, explain the relevant procedure options and their associated risks, and answer your questions. A written cost estimate is provided following the consultation. Under regulations for elective cosmetic surgery in Australia, a minimum of two consultations is required before any procedure proceeds.
Sarah Bowman, our Cosmetic Nurse, offers injectable treatments for wrinkles and volume changes, skin booster and biostimulator treatments (including Rejuran), SkinPen medical-grade microneedling, PRX Plus peel, and Image Skincare professional peels. All injectable treatments are administered in accordance with current TGA guidelines and AHPRA standards, and a consultation is required before any treatment. Sheree Abela, our Registered Dermal Clinician, provides a range of non-surgical skin treatments including K-Laser, DermaSweep, HEALITE II, IPL Limelight, Laser Genesis, Medi Facials, Medi Peels, and Medi Infusions.
